last update.. 25 weeks ago. shite. well, here is my Evil Plan! Your objective is simple: Soul Accumulation. Your motive is a little bit more complex: Love (Yes, it works) Stage One To begin your plan, you must first seduce a scientist. This will cause the world to sign up for life insurance policies, overwhelmed by your arrival. Who is this ripe bastard? Where did they come from? And why do they look so good in your wizard's robes? Stage Two Next, you must seize control of the pacific ocean. This will all be done from a island of mu, a mysterious place of unrivaled dark glory. Upon seeing this, the world will gibber like madmen, as countless hordes of winged monkeys hasten to do your every bidding. Stage Three Finally, you must activate your great supernatural forces, bringing about the return of the antichrist. Your name shall become synonymous with sheer dementedness, and no man will ever again dare take your lunch money. Everyone will bow before your extraordinary charisma, and the world will have no choice but to give you control of the planet. excellent. moving on. I have been up to things here. rushing down mountains, working on permaculture farms, getting trashed with irish and british mates, drowning in heaps of uni work, taking lomofotos, cooking random surprises with the flatmate, stumbling upon random ropes courses in forests, more pints, getting confused by statistics, playing ukulele, hugging le boyfurendo, smoothie making, flirting with hott japanese bartender, random car trips in ian, bidding on ebay cameras, hanging round the botanical gardens feeding ducks, and planning travel!!!!! yay. quick update. unexciting to read, exciting to exist in. Fiordlands = amazing. Our 3 day "medium" rated hike turned into scaling up 80 degree slopes with huge packs, and then sliding down the other 80degree side since there really was no other way to achieve a decrease. All in all, just fantastic. The views were phenomenal and just pristine landscape of middle earth surrounded us. Unfortunately my camera card decided to fuck itself and no pictures remain. Good Friday started out early after a night of our wild "Sweden Party" of Swedish games, music and drinks in honor of my flatmate's birthday. We crumpled up paper to create an effect of snowballs and had some nice warm dry snowball wars. Getting up the next day was rather tough, but fellow flatters and I headed out on our fancy rented-for-free avanti hybrid bikes to our 4 day bike journey called "cycle for sustainability." Our plan was to take 2.5 days by bike to a small town called Clyde for a wine and food festival, representing our friend and alcohol support for the journey, Tom, the Green Man organic beer guy. We scored free train tickets by saying we'll get lots of media coverage of this to portray train travel as a more efficient way of transportation than car or bus. We actually did make it into the 4th page of the newspaper though, which was rather sweet-as. Mid-Good-Fri-day, we started out on the first leg of our 170km journey on the Otago famed rail trail. Our lovely support crew greeted us with sandwiches and dancing every 30-50km and made excellent dinners at the middle-of-nowhere campsites. Tea-candle guitar songs were perfectly placed after fresh picked apples for desert. Upon eventually biking into Clyde, chanting pro cycling slurs with our signs saying things like "put the fun between your legs!" "bikes = horny" "0 emissions!" "it doesn't take a war to fuel a bike" "cycling gives you firm buttocks" and "fuck jenny craig, get a bike!" to name a fair few, the beer never tasted so good and the strawberries never tasted so sweet. We did a river jump, slept at an orchard and explored the small towns around before heading back to fuel hungry cities and warm showers. A bunch of awesome eco and bike events followed the C4S ride. Though the critical mass turnout was modest, we enjoyed donated bakery bread and chutney outside of the pricey restaurant region of Dunedin with our bikes. Our critical mass was nothing compared to the Hawaii one, which had a fantastic 60 person turnout. Unfortunately, a cop tackled a girl for no apparent reason starting a huge biker uproar since she ended up with a concussion and fucked bike. Another buddy of mine got arrested for reckless biking on a tall bike during the mass. Back in Dunedin, I found myself on the greenpeace ship the "rainbow warrior" enjoying organic beer and wines and mingling with eco activists and hippies while some guys jammed on guitar in the background. it was a fantastic setting for the green drinks party and was quite life-aquatic esque. Following that, my German friend and I headed to the dunedin "fringe festival" opening, showcasing odd and outrageous music, theater, dance, film and comedy acts over the next two weeks. this event was an oudoor lightshow and Drum n Bass party with fire dancers. all in all, a pretty interesting mix of everything. I just made a rather cool and stylish wallet out of a soymilk carton! Sweet-as! Cheers until later. After my return to Hawaii from Japan this past summer, I had the strong desire to get the hell out of there again. Conquering that semester was quite the quest, struggling through organic chemistry, ecology and evolution and marine mammal biology took all my energy along with going out five nights out of seven, and working the other two. At last, after a stopover in San Francisco with Ryan and a visit to Sau in Portland over the winter break, I have managed to leave the paradise islands and have landed with my bicycle in the land of the long white cloud, New Zealand. The 12 hour flight was rather uneventful, but rewarding with grand views of the two islands populated by more sheep than people. The town in which I reside, Dunedin, is very much a college and party town. On any given night, guaranteed each block will have at least three parties happening well into the morning. A couple evenings ago, after getting rather frustrated with my lab report, decided to take a walk. I was randomly pulled into a house party that had extremely loud beats complete with a dj and offered five kegs of beer. I think this is how I will retrieve my alcohol from now on since bars here are rather expensive and pour weak mixed drinks. The flat I live in with 4 other mates is rather international, representing the UK, China, Sweden, Iran and America. We seem to be quite the party and musical household, with my UK flatmate's friends over at any given time of day or night playing music, drawing penises on our whiteboards and sticking cheese on the living room ceiling. Our fridge is always stocked with beer, and there is always a joint to be found around the house. My funny Chinese roommate is dating a quite awesome French guy who is into really good French music and very cultured, though hearing the rhythmic bed pounding through the wall and finding him at odd night hours sporting only a towel is slightly awkward. Unfortunately, this charming town has no bike culture, which has been so far the only thing I miss about Hawaii. The bikers are generally mountain bikers or just have a bike to get to school. The few road cyclist are all about racing and testosterone, making riding with them less than enjoyable. They do hold critical mass rides here, so if I make it to the next one, I shall hopefully find more bicycle enthusiasts! Today I bought a $40 guitar with three missing strings. Once I get those taken care of, I hope to finally graduate from the ukulele to guitar. The 10 or so odd chords I've mastered may become a song to be performed at the open mic nites they hold at the Backstage bar. This is the premier live music location in Dunedin for local bands and has a rather charming atmosphere. Next weekend will be tramping in the Fiordlands. Sweet-as! More to come from the land of sheep eventually. Cheers! Current Location: New Zealand Current Mood: calm Current Music: Digable Planets

I have picked up the ol' lj once again. facebook and myspace are so complex and special effect-ed out, and the simplicity of the livejournal is quite a relief. what have i been doing? 1. finished another college semester alright. 2. went to japan for 2.5 months and had a blast with friends and sleeping on pirate ships and music and interesting food and drink stuffs and everything in between. 3. got back to the hawaii and started school again. basically. screenprinting class is fantastic. I have accumulated a button maker and polaroid camera and some fineboys japanese magazines. Shows and the whole "scene" whatnot has been getting me down. who knows whats up next? sigh, sight. i think too much and blow things out of proportion. i have too many cats. my 8 puppies (warhol, jackie (O), bukowski, balgeary, kerouac, cousteau, belle, sebastian) turned into 2 puppies (kerouac and sebastian) that are really big and weird looking. i have become a bike dork. or bike dyke. or bike punk. something like that. bikes are fantastic. bio lab still sucks. maybe i will use this live love journal a bit more. soothing perhaps? and i completed zine 2. zine 3 in the works. oyasumi.
